Students Get Festive with Christmas Bauble Designs

Westfield School for Girls recently enjoyed a fun filled day of festivities making Christmas baubles for Newcastle based GFWLetting, the urban property rental specialists.

As part of a special Christmas competition, 100 schoolgirls, aged between three and 11, were each asked to design a bauble which would be used as part of the Christmas decorations in GFWLetting’s Kenton office. Eight winners, a student from each class, were chosen by the GFWLetting team and given an art kit for their winning entry.

Eviction at an all-time high

In the three months to September 2014 more than 11,000 individuals and families were evicted from their rental property. Eviction is at an unprecedented high, with housing charity Shelter commenting that the statistics could mean that 40,000 individuals and families could be evicted this year a 117% increase on the same period last year.

The constant balance of landlord and tenants’ rights is illustrated in the statistics. Tenants facing rental increases and inflation in living costs can find it difficult to pay their rent and private landlords are looking to capitalize on their investment in light of likely interest rate changes in 2015.
